Sophia (Rockzien) Oeser – October 18, 1840 – May 30, 1915

MRS. SOPHIA OSIER CALLED

Last Sunday evening, Mrs. Sophia Osier, who has been a resident of Floyd County for 35 years, passed peacefully to her reward. Although she was nearly seventy-five years of age, she had enjoyed good health until a few months ago. Since then she (can’t read) and she passed from sleep in the blessed awakening beyond.
Sophia Rockzien was born in the province of Mecklenburg, Germany on October 18, 1840. She was married to John Oster and they came to this country in 1870, coming directly to Charles City, at which place they resided for three years. They then moved to the neighborhood of Marble Rock, living the last years in town. Mr. Osier died December 9, 1907.

Of the seven children born to them, five are yet living, Mrs. Minnie Winchell; Mrs. Anna Kreul and Mrs. Ella Ruchti, of Gennimore, Wisconsin, and Henry and John Osier.
