Frank Hartwell Jewell March 4, 1873 – January 9, 1953

FRANK JEWELL DIES; FUNERAL TO BE MONDAY

Frank H. Jewell, 79, a farmer for many years in the Marble Rock-Greene community, died at the Good Samaritan Home in Mason City Friday afternoon after two years of failing health.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hann Funeral Home in Greene. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Herman Nikolas, Marble Rock, and a son, Oscar L Jewell, Mason City.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1941 and a son, Ford, in 1940.

He was the first of eight brothers and sisters to die. The others are Jay Jewell, Greene; Mabel Northington and Jessie Carr, both of Nevada, Missouri; Mrs. A. O. Edwards and Mrs. Wilson Schultz, both of Clarksdale, Mississippi; Mrs. A. E. Carr, Kansas City, Missouri, and Mrs. Ben McGehee, Post, Texas. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Jewell was born March 4, 1873, at Nevada, Missouri. He moved from Missouri to Dumont in 1898 at the time of his marriage. He farmed in the Marble Rock and Greene Vicinity from 1914 until his retirement in 1941.
