Bert M. Marsh -- March 23, 1882 -- September 26, 1957

RITES HELD FOR BERT M MARSH

Bert M. Marsh, the son of Ann Jane Barr and Miles Marsh was born March 23, 1882 in Floyd County, seven miles west of Greene.

Mr. and Mrs. Marsh had been visiting here when he was taken ill, and after a weeks illness in Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City, Mr. Marsh passed away at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, September 26, at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 3 days.

He was a long time resident of this community, having moved to Bruning, Nebraska, in 1928, where he has since made his home.

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Pauline; two sons, Richard of Onawa, and Leon of Marble Rock; one daughter (Ila) Mrs. Francis Knapp of Greene; and seven grandchildren; also 2 brothers, Ira and Dewitt, and 1 sister, Retta Dunning.

Services were held at the First Methodist Church in Greene on Monday, September 30, 1957, with the Rev. Keenen Sheldon, of Platteville, Wisconsin, brother-in-law of Mrs. Marsh officiating and Rev. Clayton Becker of Greene assisting.

Arrangements were in charge of the Hamilton Funeral Chapel, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
