Violet (Dralle) McNeilus – December 8, 1916 – November 13, 1987

VIOLET S. MCNELIUS

Funeral services for Violet S. McNeilus, 70, Marble Rock were held Monday, Nov. 16, 1987 at the United Methodist Church in Marble Rock with burial in Westside Cemetery, Marble Rock. Rev. Robert Shreve officiated with Reid's Funeral Chapel, Marble Rock, in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McNeilus was born Dec. 8, 1916 in Vilmar, to William and Lena (Kammeyer) Dralle and died Friday Nov. 13, 1987 at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

She attended schools near Vilmar. On March 4, 1936, she was married to James McNeilus near Vilmar. After their marriage they farmed in rural Butler County until 1946. They then moved to rural Marble Rock where they lived until 1963 when they moved into Marble Rock.

She was active in various church circles at the Marble Rock United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, James, of Marble Rock; four daughters: Marlene Noack of Cedar Falls, Marilyn Myers of Raleigh, N.C.; Marjorie Tjebkes of Charles City, and Marsha Counsell of Riceville; four sons, Jim of Charles City, Larry of Mattoon, IL., Dale of Sleepy Holow, IL., and Harlan of Colorado Springs, CO.; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Minnie) Kruse of Allison, and Mrs. Marvin (Rosie) Bruns of Greene; four brothers William Dralle of Waterloo, Ervin Dralle of Allison, and Paul Dralle and Lawrence Dralle, both of Greene; 17 grandchildren and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, H.H. Dralle and Seigfred Dralle, one sister, Ida Heuer and one granddaughter, Kristina McNeilus.
