Viola Martha (Debner) Keith – March 14, 1920 – March 14, 2007

MARBLE ROCK - Viola Martha Keith, 87, of rural Marble Rock, died at home Wednesday, March 14.

She was born March 14, 1920, near Vilmar in Butler County, daughter of Ferdinand and Agnes Abendroth Debner. She married Roy Edward Keith on Sept. 22, 1941, in Trentin, Mo. He died Aug. 31, 1993.

Mrs. Keith graduated from Marble Rock High School in 1937 and worked as a housekeeper in Marble Rock until her marriage. She was a charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a member of WELCA, Natalia Club, and was a volunteer "Pink Lady" at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City for over 30 years.

Survivors include: two sons, Edward (Karen) of Marble Rock and David (Linda) of Rockford; a daughter, Judith (Charles) Schnack of Hartley; eight grandchildren, Brian (Angie) Keith of Marble Rock, Charles (Amy) Cleveland and Sarah (Roger) Madsen, both of Guthrie Center, Daphne (Barry) Landers of Greene, Jennifer (Randy) Heitman of West Des Moines, Laura (Ryan) VanRoo of Janesville, Wis., Janette (Nathan) Friesen of Janesville, Iowa, and Angela (Blaine) Ostergaard of Des Moines; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Della VanFleet of Cedar Falls and Marlene Gerholdt of Waterloo; a brother, Dean Debner of Greene; and a sister-in-law, Helen Debner of Marble Rock.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Lloyd Debner in infancy and Clarence Debner; and a great-grandchild.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with burial in Westside Cemetery, both in Marble Rock. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Reid's Funeral Chapel, Marble Rock, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Marble Rock First Responders.
