Service: Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m., Hauser Funeral Home.

Shirley Decker, 74, of Floyd, died Friday, June 26, 2015, at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Martha Bennett from Grace Methodist Church in Floyd will be officiating. Shirley requested to have her body deeded to science at the University of Iowa.

Friends may call an hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Shirley Margot (Lockie) Decker, daughter of Robert and Nellie (Shorey) Lockie, was born on October 13, 1940 in Floyd, Iowa. She attended high school in Orchard/Osage and graduated in 1958.

Shirley was united in marriage to Paul Schmidt in 1958 and later divorced. In 1971 she was united in marriage to Clinton Leroy Decker. She was a member of the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary. Shirley was a caretaker for whoever walked into her home, never turning down anyone in need. She was a rebel who loved a good fight (no cussing allowed). Her children loved and respected her. She was an avid gardener and golf watcher even though she never once played golf. Shirley enjoyed puzzles, genealogy and loved her coffee. Every year since she was four years old attended her annual family reunion at Saratoga, Iowa. Her family remembers her for the love she had for her family.

Living family members include her six children: Janice (Mike) Gauley of Nevada, Mike Schmidt of Manly, Jeff Schmidt of Floyd, Melody (Dan) Pahl of Oelwein, Krystal (Steve) Johnson of Charles City, and Mark (Tammy) Schmidt of Floyd; stepchild, Joe (Jill) Rieck; 18 grandchildren: Nick, Rana, Jasmine, Jeff, Zanna, Stephen, Angela, Danielle, Garald, Brandy, Josh, Jesse, Jared, Tristan, Serena, Misty, Jeremie, and Bambi; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Delbert Lockie; two sisters: Jean Underwood, and Sandra Burd; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul Schmidt in 1997; husband Clinton Leroy Decker in 1999; stepchild, Jerry Rieck; a brother, Robert Lockie; and a sister, Maxine Ebel.
