Deloris Jean Arhart October 14, 1932 November 1, 1960


Miss Dolores Arhart, 28, former resident of Marble Rock, succumbed Tuesday, November 1, at Independence. She had been ill for some time. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Marble Rock Methodist Church with burial in Westside Cemetery, Marble Rock.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. C. O. Pitts of Los Angeles, California; three brothers, Claire Arhart of Charles City, Donald Arhart of Mason City and Charles Arhart of San Diego, California; five sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Elinore) Henderson, La Puente, California; Mrs. Ila Novak, Mrs. James (Marvel) Keough, and Mrs. William (Nola) Shores, of Mason City and Mrs. Willis (Joyce) Johnson, El Torro, California; and her grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Arhart, Marble Rock.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Arhart, and a sister, Shirley Irene.

Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Pitts of Los Angeles, California and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Arhart of San Diego, California came for the funeral service.

** her first name was spelled incorrectly in the above obit. Her name was Deloris Jean Arhart, the daughter of Wayne Ackley Arhart and Estella Elizabeth (Allen) Arhart.

Her father died in 1951 and her mother remarried to Clarence Pitts. Her father is buried in Westside Cemetery and her mother is buried in Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, California along with her step-father.
