William “Bill” Thomas Harrer, 67, of Mason City, IA died Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs, IA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Epiphany Parish-St. Joseph Catholic Church, 302 5th St SE, Mason City. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Bill was born on May 5, 1948 in Mason City to Robert and Katherine (Burke) Harrer. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1967. After high school he served in the United States Army and was stationed in Thailand. He was honorably discharged in 1973. Bill spent most of his life working for Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa delivering medications to several pharmacies. He had 20 years of experience working in various positions in the medical profession.

Bill enjoyed watching sports in his free time. He was an Iowa Hawkeye fan, Minnesota Viking fan and Minnesota Twins fan. He was an avid reader. Bill loved to travel and vacationed in Florida, Arizona and California with his mother. He liked listening to oldies music and watching old movies. Bill’s pride and joy was his family and he had a lot of knowledge about his family’s history. Bill also spent a lot of time with friends. Family and friends meant everything to him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Bob (Suzie) Harrer of Sacramento, CA and Jim (Kathy) Harrer of Torrance, CA; sister, Ann Miller of Corona, CA; nephews, Jeff (Jayme) Harrer, Joshua Harrer and Jason (Sarah) Griffin; niece, Shannon Harrer; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
