RITES SET FOR MRS. BIRKHOLZ

Charles City-Private funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Grossmann’s chapel for Mrs. Augusta Birkholz, 70, who died in the Cedar Valley hospital Friday at 5 p.m. where she had been a patient more than a month. The Rev. Walter M. Fritschel, pastor of the St. John Lutheran church will officiate and interment will be made in Riverside cemetery.

Augusta Mewes was born to Edward and Dorothy Meyer Mewes in Floyd county, Sept. 16, 1874, where she lived all her life. She was married to Frank A. Birkholz, March 4, 1897. He died June 30, 1918. She is survived by a sister, Dora Mewes, Charles City, a brother, Fred Mewes, Colgate, N. Dak.
