ROCKFORD, IOWA - Dolores Claire Muller, 92, of Rockford died on Sunday, February 22, 2015, in Vancouver, Washington.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, 21 Third St. N.W., Rockford. The Rev. Judy Wooton will be officiating.

Dolores was born on February 17, 1923, in Rudd to Claire and Blanche (Hanchett) Mallery. She attended school through the 11th grade in the Rudd School District.

On January 13, 1942, she was united in marriage to Forrest Muller in Joliet, Illinois. To this union six children were born. The couple moved to Floyd in 1949 and resided there for eight years until moving to rural Rockford and then moved into town in 1976. Dolores resided in Rockford for the remainder of her life.

She was a homemaker and farmer's wife. In 1989, her husband Forrest passed away and Dolores found companionship with a special friend, John Van Laere. The couple spent 20 years together until John passed away in 2012.

Dolores was a member of the First United Methodist Church and participated in the United Methodist Women and Women's Church Circles. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, past member of the Women of the Moose and Women's Club of Bowling Associations. In her free time she enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables. She liked to go golfing and bowling. Dolores spent a lot of time quilting and made quilts for all of her children and 17 grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her four children, William (Carol) Muller of Swaledale, Linda (Kenneth) Boothby of Washougal, Washington, Londa (Joseph) Dawkins of Ackley and James (Sheila) Muller of Rudd; brother, Donovan Mallery of Mason City; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; special friend John Van Laere; daughter, Joan in infancy; son, Michael Muller; sisters, Maxine (Dale) Vance and Eunice (Les) Shelley; and sister-in-law, Alda Mallery.
