Anna "Ann" Hacker, 89, of Charles City died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Dennis Niezwaag will officiate. Inurnment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson, Iowa at a later date.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home an hour prior to the service.

Anna Lucy Hacker was born on June 6, 1925 in Oakland, Minnesota, the daughter of Loyd and Caroline (Roth) Sloter. She graduated from Buffalo Center High School on 1943. On March 26, 1944 she was united in marriage to Ivan Hacker in Charleston, South Carolina. For many years she worked for Berkley in Spirit Lake. Ann loved to read, crochet and loudly watch country westerns. Above all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church and a life time member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Living family members include two children; Darrell (Leanne) Hacker of Manasas, Virginia and Carol (Marcus) Quade of Charles City; three grandchildren: Patrick (Kellye) Hacker, Kristi (Robb) Wiedrich and Timothy (Virginia) Quade; 11 great grandchildren: Ethan, Gavin and Caleb Wiedrich, Josephine, Harrison and William Quade, Mathew Pottmeyer, Alyana, Isabella and Maverick Hitteman and Emma Hacker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan on August 1965; great grandson, Marcus Wiedrich; granddaughter-in-law, Colleen Hacker and a great granddaughter, Amanda Hacker; brother, Ben Sloter; and sister, Bertha Phillips.

Memorials may be directed to Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice of choice.
