FUNERAL FOR SANFORD HELD IN NORA SPRINGS; 2 SONS SURVIVORS

Nora Springs – Funeral services for Charles Verdan Sanford, 63, were held Sunday afternoon at the Christian church, conducted by Stanley Haynes of Mason City. Mrs. W. G. Estal and daughter sang. They were accompanied by Mrs. Fred Clark. Burial was in Rock Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Sanford was born February 6, 1873 on a farm northeast of Floyd and died after a long illness. He lived nearly all his life in or near Nora Springs and was caretaker of the Rock Grove Cemetery 27 years, up to the present year.

On January 28, 1898 he was married to Marian Stuart of Orchard, who died 8 years ago.

Mr. Sanford is survived by two sons, Dale, and Darrell of Nora Springs and six grandchildren and by one brother, Sidney Sanford of Nora Springs and four sisters, Mrs. Charles Clifford of Nora Springs, Mrs. A. W. Noah of Floyd, Mrs. Minnie Clifford of Mason City, and Mrs. Frank Palmer of Rudd.
