William Flower Huffman – August 14, 1871 – September 5, 1940

W. F. HUFFMAN, 69 DIES FOLLOWING BRIEF ILLNESS
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS INCOMPLETE, BURIAL TO BE AT ROCK GROVE

William F. Huffman, 69, died at a local hospital about 6:45 o’clock Thursday morning following an illness of about a week. He had been a resident of Mason City for the past 40 years.

Mr. Huffman was born August 14, 1871, in Frankford, Ontario, Canada. He moved to Nora Springs with his parents when he was a year old. For a number of years he lived on a farm near Nora Springs and later operated a meat market in Nora Springs before moving to Mason City.

For a number of years Mr. Huffman was in the building and contracting business in Mason City. He was building inspector for two years and for the past few years he had been with the Carroll Sales Company. He resided at 304 Delaware Avenue Northeast in Mason City.

Surviving Mr. Huffman are his wife, Mrs. William Huffman, and one son, Everett, mason City, and three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Valler, Wilmington, Cal., Mrs. Sarah Haynes, Mason City, and Mrs. Mary Reed, Nora Springs and one brother, Edwin W Huffman, Lameta, Cal.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Burial will be at the Rock Grove Cemetery at Nora Springs. The body will lie in state at the Major Funeral Home until the time of service.

William Flower Huffman was born August 14, 1871 in Canada, the son of James Conrad Huffman and Aldura Flower Stewart.

His first wife was Myrtle Marshall, the daughter of Alexander Marshall and Mary ‘Nanie” Edington Marshall. This marriage ended in divorce.

His second wife was Anna Andersen, the daughter of Peter and Christina Andersen.
