CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Judy Rutherford, 74, of Charles City died March 3, 2015.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015, at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor David Patrick and Pastor Paul Schaefer will officiate.

According to her wishes, cremation will take place following the service.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home Thursday, March 5, 2015, from 1 to 3 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Cedar Valley Hospice, 2001 Kimball Ave., Waterloo, IA 50702, and/or your local hospice provider.

The Hauser Funeral Home, 641-228-2323, in Charles City is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hauserfh.com.

Judy Rutherford, 74, of Charles City, went home to be with her Lord and Savior March 3, 2015.

A funeral service for Judy Rutherford will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor David Patrick and Pastor Paul Schaefer will officiate. According to her wishes, cremation will take place following the service.

Judith Ann Rutherford was born September 29, 1940 to Edward and Evalyn (Crider) Haferbier. She married Gary George on October 30, 1956 and to this union four children were born. The couple later divorced. Judy married Richard Rutherford on February 4, 1967 and to this union three children were born. Judy was a wonderful homemaker who devoted herself to family and church. After her children were grown, she obtained her GED at the age of 40, received her driver's license at the age of 50 and earned her real estate license at the age of 60. Judy enjoyed traveling and sewing, but loved spending as much time with her family as possible.

Living family members include her husband of 48 years, Dick Rutherford; children and their spouses: Chris (Jon) Zeidler, Dori (Larry) Myers, Cindy (David) Patrick, Gary (Leisa) George, Jeff (Tracey) Rutherford, Jason (Julie) Rutherford and Joy (Andy) Pace; Amy Rutherford (daughter-in-law); the pride and joy in her life, more than 20 grandchildren and more than 10 great-grandchildren; along with other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary.
