Helen Lidd, 89, of Charles City, died Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A funeral Mass for Helen Lidd will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Reverend Gary Mayer will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday where a Scriptural Prayer service will be begin at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the Mass.

Helen Marie Christensen Lidd was born on September 11, 1925, at Charles City, the daughter of Peter and Dagmar (Knudsen) Christensen. After graduating from Charles City High School in 1943 Helen worked for several years in the office at Salsbury Laboratories.

On May 29, 1948 she was united in marriage to Leo Lidd at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. They resided in Charles City where they raised their family. Helen was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing 500, Bridge and various games with family and friends. Helen and Leo enjoyed taking vacations with their family; she looked forward to sharing life's experiences with them.

Living family members include four sons: Bob (Bev) Lidd of Lafayette, Ind., Tom (Jane Kelly) Lidd of Cedar Rapids, Mike (Peg) Lidd of Charles City, Steve (Vicki) Lidd of Irvine, Calif. and eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 63 years, Leo on July 19, 2011, and her sister Esther Christopherson.
