SHELL ROCK, IOWA - Pamela Jean Tietz, 47, of Shell Rock, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.

She was born September 18, 1961, in Charles City, daughter of Raymond and June Crosby Ackerman. On May 10, 2008, she married Grant Tietz in Waverly.

Mrs. Tietz graduated from Clarksville High School in 1980, then served in the U.S. Army for a short time. She was employed at the Larrabee Center Inc., Waverly, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Shell Rock.

Survived by her husband; her mother of Clarksville; two sisters, Mary (Marlin) Hinders and Sandy (Don) Miller, both of Clarksville; and a brother, John Smith of Atlantic.

Preceded in death by her father.

Family-conducted memorial services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Shell Rock, with inurnment in Lynwood Cemetery, Clarksville. The family will greet relatives and friends an hour before services Wednesday at the church. There will be no visitation; her body has been cremated according to her wishes. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family's discretion.
