CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Richard McDonald, 67, of Nashua died Monday, December 29, 2014, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Dennis Niezwaag of Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

Military honors will be conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home an hour prior to the service.

Richard Kyle McDonald was born January 4, 1947, at Charles City, the son of Kyle and Helen (Watkins) McDonald. He graduated from Charles City High School in 1966. Richard proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. In 1970 he married Betty Frascht and they had two children. They later divorced. On July 18, 1990 he was united in marriage to Judy Lambert. Over the years he was employed at Oliver/White Farm Equipment Company and at B&J Water. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Richard was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and woodcarving.

Living family members include his wife, Judy McDonald at Nashua; six children, Terry (Erik) Bailey of California, Tammy McDonald of Albert Lea, Jody (Don) Teepe of Rockford, Kylle (Nicole) Phend of Charles City, Travis (Nicki) Lambert of Cedar Rapids and Stacy Rasmussen of New Hampton; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; twin brother, Robert McDonald of Charles City; and sisters, Kay (Byron) Lawless of Cedar Rapids and Bili (Bob) Voithtman, Marengo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Roger McDonald.
