Funeral services were held at the Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin, Minnesota, on Thursday, February 24, 1983 for Donald Lou Nikolas, age 52. He was a former Osage, Iowa, resident, who died on Tuesday, February 22, 1983, at the Rochester Methodist Hospital. Father Paul Nelson officiated at the service with burial in the Calvary Cemetery. The Mayer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Donald Lou Nikolas was born on November 6, 1930 in Marble Rock, Iowa, the son of Edward and Marie Nikolas. He graduated from the Charles City High School.

On April 25, 1953 he was united in marriage to Beverly Meighan, in New Hampton, Iowa.

He was a salesman for Nordaas Ameircan Homes of Minnesota Lake and on the board of directors and vice president of sales.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clair.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Austin; one son, Joey of Austin; four daughters: Mrs. Gary (Barb) Francis and Mrs. Brad (Donna) Conrad of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Kerri Nikolas of Austin; four brothers: Leo of Burlington; Earl of Greene, Eugene of Osage and Edwald of Downey, Calif.; three sisters: Mrs. Charles (Pauline) Vala of Charles City, Iowa, Mrs. Russ (Bette) Ewoldt of Wayzata, Minnesota, and Francys Ferch of Cedar Rapids.
