CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Bruce Dana, 76, of Charles City, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. the Rev. Gary Mayer will celebrate the Mass.

Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City. Military honors will be conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014, where there will be a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday at the church an hour prior to the service.

Bruce Dana, 76, of Charles City, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Bruce Carter Dana was born August 18, 1938, in Chickasaw County, the son of Gale and Mildred (Carter) Dana. He received his education at Nashua. Bruce proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. On December 15, 1956, he was united in marriage to Karla Meyers at Austin, Minn.

Bruce was employed from 1958 to 1993 at Oliver/ White Farm Equipment Company as supervisor. While plant manager from 1993 to 1998 at North East Valve, he traveled to the United Kingdom where he trained others in the building of transmissions. He was employed at Winnebago Industries from 1998 to 2004. Bruce was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the White Athletic Board where he served as president, White Management Club Board, served on the Little League Board as well as coached little league for 15 years, and as past governor of the Moose Lodge. His interests included fishing, reading, woodworking and camping. Bruce was a role model for many, especially his family, with whom he enjoyed sharing life experiences.

Living family members include four children, Daniel (Shawn) Dana of Sioux City, Gale (Rhonda) Dana of Cedar Falls, Ronda (Joe) Frascht of Charles City and Craig "Pike" (Becky) Dana of Altoona; nine grandchildren, Jessica (Matt) Frana, Atalia (Kevin) Krueger, Bailey (Ben) Schutz, Abigail (Seth) VanGelder, Natasha (Alex) Beller, Alyssa (Riley) Briggs, Ashley Dana, Alex Dana and Alexandra Dana; four great grandchildren, Leighten and Henley Schutz, Olivia Frana and Ryker Briggs; six siblings, Marlys (Leonard) Boehmer of Evansdale, Lyneen (Ed) Brunsting of Charles City, Gary (Janice) Dana of Charles City, Stanley Dana of Charles City, Sharon Springer of Charles City and Cheryl Roeder of Arlington, Tex.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Karla on September 27, 2008; two brothers, Roger and Terry Dana; and a sister, Marcene Cobourn.
