NEW PROVIDENCE - Janet M. Lawler, 92, of New Providence, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls, of natural causes.

She was born October 22, 1912, in Rockford, daughter of Charles and Isabella McElvaney Young. On April 6, 1942, she married Everett A. Lawler at St. Marks Catholic Church, Iowa Falls. He died September 20, 1982.

Mrs. Lawler graduated from cosmetology school. She was a farm partner with her husband.

Survivors include a daughter, Leatrice (James) Virtel of St. Louis, Missouri; three sons: Junior (Donna) of Eldora, Dean (Deborah) of Baltimore, Maryland, and Rex (Marilee) of New Providence; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Audrey; two sons, David and Marty; and a brother, Charles R. Young.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Marys Catholic Church, Eldora, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Creps-Abels Funeral Home, Eldora, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.

Memorials may be directed to the church, Quakerdale, or Iowa River Hospice.
