Rites for Frederick,
Charles City Pioneer,
to Be Held Thursday

CHARLES CITY — Funeral services for Ferdinand Frederick, 85, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Lutheran church with the Rev. C. G. Prottengeier officiating and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Frederick, who had been a resident of this community for 50 years, died Tuesday at the home of his son, William Frederick, 212 Tenth Avenue. He had been ill about a week with heart trouble.

Mr. Frederick came to Charles City from Germany in 1886 and lived here continuously except for six years in Bassett.

The following sons and daughters survive: Mrs. Paul Lux, Chicago; Mrs. W. B. Hadden, Des Moines; William, Emil and Otto Frederick, Charles City; Lena Frederick, Chicago; Emma Frederick, Los Angeles California; Gus Frederick, Waukegan, Illinois; Mrs. Emma Cathrue, Eustis, Florida; Louisa Frederick, New York, N.Y., ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
