Funeral Held Monday for Charles City Man
CHARLES CITY – Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home for Leonard Lloyd, 65, who died at Cedar Valley Hospital Friday where he had been a patient for two days. The Rev. A.F. Schuldt of the First Methodist Church officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Lloyd was born April 11, 1887, at Loyal, Wis., son of Charles and Sarah Davis Lloyd. He was married to Ella Holcomb Dec. 21, 1911, at Charles City.
Mr. Lloyd had been employed at the Iowa Public Service and before coming to Charles City eight years ago, the Lloyds lived at Spencer for 19 years.
Survivors are his wife and two sons, William and Wilbur, all of Charles City, and three daughters, Mrs. Albert Friend, Excelsior, Minn.; Mrs. Harry Starkey, Charles City, and Mrs. Richard Jensen, Sun Valley, Calif., and 14 grandchildren, a brother, Lester, Willow City, N.D., and a sister, Mrs. Jennie Newman, Charles City. His parents, two sisters and a brother and one child preceded him in death.
