CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Cynthia Barritt, 52, of Charles City died Monday, September 1, 2014, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Service: Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.

Cindy Barritt, 52, of Charles City, died Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A funeral service for Cindy Barritt will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Hauser Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Riverside Cemetery at Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Cynthia "Cindy" Lou Barritt, the daughter of Walter and Lois (Beckman) Barritt, was born February 13, 1962 in Michigan. She was raised in Michigan for about seven years before moving to Waterloo and Ackley with her family. Cindy graduated from Ackley Geneva High School in 1980 and went on to earn a degree in accounting. She moved to Charles City about twenty years ago and has resided there ever since. Cindy loved her cats very much and was a proud sponsor of the ASPCA.

Living family members include her daughter, Jennifer (Lee) Griffen of Charles City; father, Walter "Bud" Barritt of Voorhies; two brothers: Bruce (Tracey) Barritt of Nevada and Glen (Sheila) Barritt of Marshalltown; grandchildren: Ali Griffen, Christopher Barritt, Kamie Griffen, Amber Bedard, Addie and Eddie Byers; nieces and nephews: Mathew Kurth, Megan Barritt, Lucas, Wade and Olivia Barritt; great-niece, Serenity Mahan; along with other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois and her son, Chad Speedy.
