VEARL S. MILLS DIED SUDDENTLY

This community was shocked Friday forenoon by the sudden death of Vearl Mills. Mr. Mills was apparently recovering nicely from a gall bladder operation which had been preceded by a long illness of Malta fever.

Mrs. Mills had accompanied his wife to the barn Saturday morning to assist a little with the chores when he was stricken. He was finally able to walk to the house and Dr. Wentworth was called, but all efforts to avert the fatal heart attack were futile and he passed away in about an hour.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 o'clock at the Methodist church, Rev. J.W. Bearse officiating. Burial was in Hillside cemetery.

Vearl Sidney Mills was born May 30, 1904 on his farm home west of Marble Rock, the son of Grant and Lizzie Mills, and passed away March 8, 1949, in the same home.

On April 20, 1935 he was married to Ruth Little.

Besides his wife, he leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, and two sisters, Mrs. Guy Garber, Zoe, of Marble Roc and Mrs. Albert Ward, Roe, of Dexter, Oregon, five nephews, three nieces and numerous other relatives and friends.
