Lifelong Resident of Marble Rock Is Buried

MARBLE ROCK - Funeral services for Grant Mills were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his home here, in charge of the Rev. Alfred Van Bensehoten of the Baptist church.

Ulysses S. Grant Mills, fifth child of John and Louisa Phillips Mills, was born near Marble Rock, April 14, 1868 , and spent his entire life in this community. He was married to Miss Elizabeth Carbiener on Nov. 10, 1888. Retired from farming he moved to town in 1915. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Also two sisters, one brother and five nephews. The children are Mrs. Harry Ward of Mason City, Mrs. Guy Garber and Louis and Vearl Mills of Marble Rock. The sisters are Mrs. Patience Caswell of Chicago and Mrs. Will Barth.
