Service: Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Bethany Alliance Church

Emma Day, 94, of Nashua, died Thursday, July 17, 2014, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Emma Day will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Alliance Church in Charles City. Pastor Darin Cerwinske of Cedar Point Church will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in Richwood Cemetery near Roodhouse, Illinois.

The family will greet friends at the church an hour prior to the service.

Emma Cornelia Fugger Day was born February 12, 1920, at Saint Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of George and Edith (Grimm) Fugger. She graduated in 1939 from Roodhouse High School in Roodhouse, Ill. and later from Hardin Brown Business College in Jacksonville, Illinois. On November 16, 1941, she was united in marriage to William Day at Roodhouse. To this union twin boys were born. Emma was a homemaker, who after the boys were raised, later became a medical secretary. She moved to Charles City fourteen years ago. Emma was a member of First Baptist Church at Roodhouse where she taught Sunday School for many years. After moving to this area she attended Bethany Alliance Church. Her interests included sewing, singing and reading.

Living family members include two sons, Ronald (Sheila) Day of Nashua and Donald Day of Dallas, Tex. and Elizabeth Day of Woodway, Tex.; eight grandchildren, Scott (Sheri) Day, David (Kristin) Day, Andy (Lori) Day, Jonathon (Amanda) Day, Jeremy (Connie) Day, Joshua (Heather) Day Deedie (Darin) Cerwinske and Martha (Nick) Winters; 25 great grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; six step great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, William Day in 1984; two brothers, Charles "Chuck" Fugger and George "Red" Fugger; and a great grandson, Isaac Day.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Cedar Point Church, Box 321, Nashua, IA 50658.
