Bethel Ritter, 87, of Charles City, died Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs.

Funeral services for Bethel Ritter will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Bill McLeland of Bethany Alliance Church will officiate. Burial will be in West Side Cemetery rural Marble Rock.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Bethel Eileen Warner Ritter was born May 29, 1927, at Rockford, the daughter of Ceo and Sadie (McMullen) Warner. She graduated in 1945 from Rockford High School. In March of 1946 she was united in marriage to Clair Ritter. Clair died in April of 1955. Bethel married Ronald Ritter on July 22, 1960 at Waterloo. Ronald died on June 27, 2014. She was employed at Salsbury Baptist Home for 15 years retiring in 1982. Bethel did private caregiving for several years. Her interests included crocheting, knitting, sewing, bird watching, bowling, and taking trips to the casino. Bethel was a people person who simply enjoyed a good conversation with anyone. Family was always important to her and she looked forward to sharing life's experiences with them, especially at holiday times.

Living family members include children: Clarence "Bill" (Phyllis) Ritter of Nevada, Richard (Marilyn) Ritter of Rockford, Paul (Deneen) Ritter of Charles City, Karen (Jack) Sharp of Nora Springs and Kimberly (Kevin) Sorenson of Owatonna, Minnesota; daughter-in-law Julie Ritter of Lake Mills; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandsons; brothers, David (Cheryl) Warner of Greene and Gary (Virginia) Warner of Denver; a sister, Ethel Lane of Lewis, Wisc.; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; son, Jim Ritter; two great granddaughters; brothers, Allan "Bud" Warner, Charles Warner, Max Warner and Gordon Warner; and a sister, Sara Jane Kelly.
