FLOYD, IOWA — Funeral services will be at the Floyd Methodist Church Tuesday at 2 p. m. for John Adams Martin, 84, of Floyd, who died at a Rockford Nursing home Saturday morning of heart trouble and old age complications; had been at the nursing home since June 5.

He farmed at Floyd for 20 years and then was postmaster there from 1914 to 1933, and was retired. He married Frances Louise Roy, who died September 28, 1942.

Survived by three daughters, Mrs. A. B. Scherf, Newburg, Oregon; Mrs. G. R. Driggers, Floyd, and Mrs. C. R. Pennington, Rockford; one sister, Mrs. E. W. Gehring, Howard, South Dakota; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His parents, wife, and three sisters preceded him in death.

Ex-Postmaster at Floyd Dies

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Funeral services will be held at the Floyd Methodist Church Tuesday at 2 p. m. for form Adams Martin. 84, of Floyd who died at a Rockford nursing home of heart trouble Saturday. He had been at the nursing home since
June 5.

Mr. Martin farmed at Floyd for 20 years and then was postmaster there from 1914 to 1933 and was retired. He was married to Frances Louise Roy, who died Sept. 28 1942. His father's name was Adam Martin and his mother's name was Catherine Sneath.

Survivors are three daughters Mrs. A. B. Scherf, Newburg, Ore. Mrs. G. R. Driggers, Floyd an Mrs. C. R. Pennington, Rockford one sister, Mrs. E. W. Gehring, Howard, S. Dakota.; one niece one nephew; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His parents, wife and three sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Martin had lived in the Floyd community all his life. The Rev. Max Paige, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery at Floyd.
