Cheryl Vasut, 54, of Charles City, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Funeral services for Cheryl Vasut will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Jane Keel of Messiah Lutheran Church will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Cheryl Renea Hall Vasut was born November 8, 1959, at Charles City, the daughter of Earl and Madline (Coppernoll) Hall. She received her GED and continued her education in nursing. On January 7, 2009, she married Emil Vasut. Cheryl worked for many years as a nurse in Oklahoma. She enjoyed flower gardening, putting puzzles together and her dog Carmel.

Living family members include her husband, Emil Vasut of Charles City; a daughter, Laurie (Jeramie) Wasem of Waverly; six grandchildren; a great granddaughter; three brothers; and six sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bradley Batton; a brother; and three sisters.
