Roy E Stahl rites Saturday at Manly church
MANLY - Roy E. Stahl, 62, died Wednesday at a Mason City hospital following a long illness. He was a retired railroad conductor.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the B.E.U.B Church. The Rev. Harold W. Dellit will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, with Bride's Funeral Home, Manly, in charge.
Born Nov. 10, 1898 at Rockford, he was the son of Herman and Carrie Ljunggren Stahl. He was graduated from Rockford High School in 1915 and was employed by the Rock Island Railroad in 1916. He worked on the railroad 37 years until retiring because of ill health in 1956. He was a veteran of World War I.
Aug. 6, 1931, he was married to Marie Boyd at Rock Island, Ill. He was a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge and the B.E.U.B. church. They had lived in Manly nine years.
Surviving are his wife, a son, James, Great Bend, Kan.; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Sehman, Manly, and a brother Ernest Stahl, St. Paul.
