Herman Stahl Dies at Manly
MANLY - Herman Stahl, 83, retired bridge foreman of the Rock Island railroad, died at his home here Tuesday morning after a long illness. He and his wife recently observed their 60th wedding anniversary. He was a member of the Masonic order and was recently awarded a 50-year pin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bride's Funeral Home, the Rev. Carl Frankhause officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Rockford.
Mr. Stahl was born in Germany and came to the United States when he was 16 years old. He was married to Carrie Ljunggren at Charles City. They lived at Rockford until 1921 when they moved to Manly.
Survivors include the wife, a daughter, Mrs. Lucy Fehman, Manly; sons Ray of Manly and Ernest of St. Paul, three grandchildren, one great grandson, and two half-brothers, Otto and Paul Woge of Fessenden, N.D.
