Retired Farmer Dies; Rites at Rudd Friday

Rudd - Funeral services for Herman Ebens were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church with the Rev. R.M. Bell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Rudd cemetery. The Sheckler funeral home of Nora Springs is in charge.

Mr. Ebens died Tuesday at the home of his son Steve after a long illness. He was born in Germany and came to the United States when 22 years old. He was a farmer until 13 years ago when he moved to town. His wife died in 1919.

Survivors are 3 sons, Steve of Rudd, Tom of Davenport, N. Dak., and Abe of Independence and a daughter, Mrs. William Klinkel of Independence.
