FUNERAL HELD FOR
LOREN BUCKNELL, 65

Funeral services were held here Tuesday afternoon for Loren Bucknell, 65, of New Haven, who died Saturday at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City, Iowa, after a short illness of cancer.

Rev. R. Smith, pastor of the United Methodist Church, was in charge of the services and arrangements were by C. R. Champion and Sons. Burial was in the Osage cemetery.

Loren Bucknell was born on March 22, 1906, near Bradford, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Anna Meek Bucknell. He attended school in Floyd County.

Grayce Fowler and Loren Bucknell were married in St. Paul, December 23, 1930. They later moved to Osage and he spent most of his life farming in this vicinity.

Surviving are his father of Floyd, one brother, Cletus of rural Ionia, five sisters: Mrs. Iola Cummings and Mrs. Elwood (Irma) Regal of Central City, Mrs. Ralph (Elma) Belknap of Rowley, Mrs. John (Doris) Aird of Charles City and Mrs. Earl (Lois) Waid; two foster children, Gary Sheldon of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Mrs. Maurice (JoAnn) Counsell of rural Riceville; a daughter by a previous marriage and nine grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his wife and his mother in 1966.
