Service Date: Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 10:30 A.M., Hauser Funeral Home.

Dale Hollister, Jr., 56, of Floyd, died Friday, November 15, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services for Dale Hollister will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Phillips will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5-8 P.M. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Dale Stewart Hollister, Jr. was born May 21, 1957 in Schenectady, New York, the son of Dale Sr. and Virginia (Domme) Hollister. The family moved to Alma, Michigan in 1960 and then to Charles City in 1972. Dale received his education in Charles City and later attended NIACC, receiving a degree in automotive mechanics. In 1975, Dale joined the Army at the age of 17 after begging his parents to sign for the authorization. He was later honorably discharged and joined the Army National Guard for the next several years.

On July 12, 1980, Dale was united in marriage to Jean (Tudor) McCloud at First Wesleyan Church in Charles City. This union was blessed with two children, Nikki and Brian. The couple later divorced. Throughout his working career, Dale was employed at Jendros in Charles City, White Farm in Charles City and Reilly Construction out of Ossian. Dale was a member of the V.F.W. in Charles City. He enjoyed watching movies, hunting, snowmobiling, target shooting and westerns.

Living family members include his two children: Nikki (Kory) McIntire of Charles City and Brian Hollister (significant other Carley Robison) of Waverly; two granddaughters: Natalie McIntire and Rylie Hollister; his mother and father, Dale Sr. and Virginia Hollister of Spring Hill, Florida; five siblings: Terri (Doug) Winnell of Charlevoix, Michigan, Netty (Rick) Fisher of Clearwater, Florida, Chris (Steve) Thomson of Coto de Caza, California, Lester (Julie) Hollister of Floyd and Randy Hollister of Scottsdale, Arizona; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
