CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Sally Jenkins, 70, of Charles City, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, with Pastor Debra Lincoln of Jordan River officiating. Inurnment will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.

Hauser Funeral Home, 641-228-2323, in Charles City, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.hauserfh.com.

Sally Jenkins, 70, of Charles City, died Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.

Memorial services for Sally Jenkins will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hauser Funeral Home. Pastor Debra Lincoln of Jordan River will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.

Sally Rae Jorgensen Jenkins was born April 26, 1943, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Arthur and Cleone (Kennard) Jorgensen. She graduated from Crestwood High School in 1961 and received her Associate Degree in counseling from Marycrest College in Davenport. On November 19, 1966, she was united in marriage to Joseph Jenkins. They later divorced. Sally spent most of her working career as a substance abuse counselor at Davenport. She was a member of Jordan River where she was a lay leader, Alcoholics Anonymous having celebrated 30 years of sobriety, and volunteered at the food pantry/community kitchen. Sally also was very proud of being a Foster Grandparent for several years.

Living family members include two daughters, Jeannette Jenkins of Seattle, Wash. And Elizabeth Jenkins of Charles City; five grandchildren, Ayla Perry, Taya Perry, Sacoya Jenkins, Ali Clay and Asher Clay; two sisters, Nancy Carpenter of Colorado and Patricia (Mike) Fitzgerald of Decorah; and a brother, Charles (Jeanne) Jorgensen of Maquoketa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Jordan River or Messiah Food Pantry/Kitchen.
