NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Deloris L. Johnson, 94, of Nora Springs died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at the Nora Springs Care Center, Nora Springs. Funeral arrangements are pending with Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City.

MASON CITY, IOWA - Deloris L. Johnson, 94, of Mason City died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at the Nora Springs Care Center.

A funeral service for Deloris will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with interim Pastor Tom Dettmer from Our Saviours Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at the funeral home.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 2502 S. Jefferson Ave., Mason City.

Deloris L. Johnson, daughter of the late Albert and Mabel (Hopperstead) Enerson, was born April 28, 1919, in Northwood. She attended and graduated from Northwood High School in 1937. Following her education, she worked at the lumber yard in Northwood as an office assistant where she met Ernest Johnson. They were united in marriage in 1940 in rural Northwood and to this union they were blessed with three sons: Daral, Richard and Gary.

While their children were young Deloris stayed home with them. She then began working for several formal clothing stores in Mason City. She began her career in the business office at Park Clinic and later worked at the hospital in Mason City. She was employed there for over 25 years before she retired.

During her younger years, Deloris played several different types of card games, enjoyed dancing with Ernest, shopping and loved to bake and cook. She also loved flowers and enjoyed being in the outdoors. Christmas was Deloris' favorite holiday as she would prepare for months planning the festivities for her family as they arrived to her house from all over the United States.

She was a member of the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Mason City.

Deloris is survived by her son, Richard Johnson of Mason City, grandchildren, Todd (Lisa Schaer) Johnson of Mason City and his daughter, Rindy (Ben) Studer, Lesley (Steve) Gates of Clive and their children, Taylor, Tara, and Lauren, and Troy (Stacy) Johnson of Portland, Ore., and their children, Brynn and Oscar Johnson and her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Johnson of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest, and sons, Daral and Gary.
