Funeral services were held Friday, July 10, 1987 at the United Methodist Church, Rockford, for Beryl D. Gale, 76, of Rudd, Iowa, and Formerly of Rockford, Iowa. He died on Tuesday, July 7, 1987 at a Mason City hospital.

Rev. R. Shreve and Rev. S. Mallott officiated and graveside services were held Friday at Maple Hill cemetery in Gladbrook.

He was born on March 5, 1911 in Peace Valley, Missouri, the son of Dudley and King Charlotte (Rousch) Gale. he came to Iowa in his early 20's and worked as a farmhand in Grundy and Tama counties.

On May 1, 1937, he was married to Verna Budaldsen in Eldora. They lived in Morrison. In 1939, he worked for Member Mutual Oil Co. in Waterloo, and in 1945, he worked for Morrison Co-op and later managed the Pooley-Merfeld Elevator in Hansel and Staley Elevator in Hampton. He moved to Rockford in 1959 and was manager of the Farmers Co-op in Rockford for 15 years, retiring in 1974, he then moved to Rudd in 1984.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rockford and was an honorary member of the Rockford FFA.

Survivors include his wife, Verna of Rudd; one son, Gene of Reeds Springs, MO; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Carol) Tipton of Marion and Mrs. Harold (Marilyn) Jorgenson of Nora Springs; four brothers: Verline of Maxwell, Theryl of Conrad, Don of Springfield, MO, and Kenneth of Pamona, MO; one sister, Mrs. Claude (Elsie) Holden of Mountain View, MO; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
