Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 14, 1987 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs, Iowa, for Ralph E. Bahnsen, 72, of Nora Springs. Rev. H. Tegtmeier officiated, and burial was in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs. Mr. Bahnsen died on Saturday, April 11, 1987, at his home.
He was born on August 2, 1914 in Rock Falls, Iowa, the son of Christian and Margretta (Wohler) Bahnsen. He graduated from Rock Falls High School. On October 16, 1935, he married Katherine Deets in Nora Springs. They farmed in the Nora Springs-Rock Falls area until 1948 when they moved to Nora Sprigns. Mr. Bahnsen worked for Oliver Corporation before being employed by Northwestern cement plant in Mason City, where he worked for 23 years. He retired in 1977.
Mr. Bahnsen enjoyed fishing. He was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine of Nora Springs; two daughters, Kaye Rodamaker of Charles City and Penny Summers of Nora Springs; two sons, Jerry of Anoka, Minnesota, and Jack of Osage; three sisters: Margaret paulson of Marshalltown, Bertha Deckard of Crosslake, Minnesota, and Mrs. Art (Lynda) Troge of Osage; three brothers: Jack of Milwaukee, Hans of Boyceville, Wisconsin, and William "Butch" of Riceville; and seven grandchildren.
