BERNICE DAAKE (18 Jan 1910 - 24 Apr 1991)
Bernice (Mrs. Rueben) Daake, 81, died Wednesday morning, April 24, 1991, at the 9th St. Chautauqua Guest Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Neil Koppen, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Memory Gardens.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home at at the church on Saturday morning.
Bernice Ann Holthaus Daake was born January 18, 1910, in Colesburg, the daughter of Benjamin and Emma Laun Holthaus. She received her education from Colesburg High School and also completed her normal training. On September 23, 1937, she married Rueben Daake in Colesburg. Bernice was a member of the Wesleyan Church.
Living family members include her husband, Rueben, of Charles City; three sons, Richard Daake of Bartlesville, Okla.; Robert Daake of Ankeny; and Donald of Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother, Burdette Holthaus of Martell; one sister, Pearl Ross of Edgewood; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
