Neva Baehne, 91, of Charles City, died Friday, September 20, 2013, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Neva Baehne will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Pastor Jim Beranek will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and at the church an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Neva Marlys Clapp Baehne was born February 21, 1922, at Floyd, the daughter of Worth and Vera (Chesnut) Clapp. She graduated from the Floyd High School. On September 20, 1941, she was united in marriage to Harold Baehne at Charles City. They farmed all of their lives near Rudd. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and past member of the Women of the Moose. Neva enjoyed sewing and doing crafts of various types. Family was very important to Neva and she especially looked forward to visiting with her grandchildren.

Living family members include two daughters, Peggy (Bob) Zierath of Cedar Rapids and Linda (Jim) Esser of Rockford; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; a brother, Neil (Mary) Clapp of Cedar Falls; and two sisters, Florene (Johnny) Johnson of Charles City and Georgia Luster of Moline, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold on October 9, 1982; a granddaughter, India Esser; a brother, Dale Clapp; and a sister, Lois Cross.

CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Neva Baehne, 91, of Charles City died Friday, September 20, 2013, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Neva Baehne will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Pastor Jim Beranek will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens rural Charles City.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home, and at the church an hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
