MARY SARAH SCHAEFER (14 May 1874 - 2 Feb 1953)

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Funeral services were held here Wednesday for Miss Mary Schaefer, 78, who died suddenly at her home at 1218 Ohio Avenue, Monday, following a heart attack.

Mary was born on May 14, 1874, in Wisconsin, the daughter of Rev. Peter and Elizabeth (Riedlinger) Schaefer; came to Floyd county with her parents. Her father was a minister in the Methodist German conference. The family lived in the Flood Creek community for many years.

She leaves one brother, Jacob, of Charles City, with whom she made her home; and two sisters, Miss Lizzie Schaefer and Mrs. John Daake, Eldora; her parents.

Four brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
