MRS. HARVEY PIONEER LADY PASSES AWAY
At Her Home East of the City This Morning of Pneumonia - Had Resided Here 45 Years

MOTHER OF 5 CHILDREN

Survived by Husband - She Celebrated Her Fifty-third Wedding Anniversary Last October.

Mrs. Elizabeth Harvey, residing east of this city, passed away this morning at a quarter to 8 o'clock of pneumonia after a weeks illness. Deceased was born in Kentucky, October 18, 1832 and was aged 76 years, 5 months and 13 days.

Deceased came here from Illinois with her husband about forty five years ago, and has resided on the same farm ever since. October 18, last, they celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary, and before a large company of friends renewed the ties that bound them together for life.

Besides the aged husband she leaves five children: Mrs. Emma Matteson, Mrs. Ida Teedy, Mrs. J. R. Powers, George and Irving Harvey, all of this city.

Deceased was stricken with pneumonia a week or so ago and on account of her advanced age her ailment was considered serious from the first. It is an especially sad event to her husband, with who she has traveled life's pathway so long and so happily and with whom she has lived for nearly half a hundred years in the very same home, where they have reared a family of devoted chIldren and where the ties that bound them together everywhere abounded.

Life holds no more sorrowful occurrence than the death of a good wife and mother, and when that mother is one of the old pioneers it is one that concerns all of the older residents.

Deceased was a devout Christian woman and worshiped with the Methodist society, and her funeral will take place tomorrow at 2:30 at the M. E. church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. R. Caffyn.

Thus another old pioneer has answered the call to go up higher and receive the rich reward that is awaiting those who have lived well this life.
