Campbell, Ida B,
CAMPBELL - At the home of her parents in this city, July 10th, Ida B. second daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. D. G. Campbell, aged 20 years.
Coming down to us from the dim past the words of the prophet:
"The grass withereth, and the flower fadeth." are brought home to us of the present with all their ancient and touching significance, as here and there the young and beautiful are called by the grim reaper - Death. While those of us who have borne the burden and heat of the day, and who only look at life retrospectively, realize that but few of the aspirations and anticipations of youth can ever be realized, still none the less do we regret that these loved ones should be called away, and we be robbed of that enthusiasm and trustfulness which is the charm of youth. On Tuesday morning last, such a young life went out of the summer sunshine of earth to that unknown and far away country, which faith and hope have invested with the glory of Paradise. In the home, in the school, in the church, in the league and in the social circle which she so graced, her loss will be most deeply felt. This brief life was well lived. and though all its bright promise of future development her is thus so cruelly wrecked, it is none the less a precious legacy to those she has left.
The funeral services were held yesterday; the wealth of floral offerings and the large number of friends present attesting the high esteem in which the deceased was held. - Rockford Register.
A large delegation of ladies of Excelsior Chapter, O.E.S of which Mr. and Mrs. Campbell are members, attended the funeral and paid that last tribute of respect to one who was so well worthy of it.
