JOHN C. HARVEY DIES AT HOME NEAR CITY
THIS MORNING MARKS PASSING OF ANOTHER FLOYD COUNTY PIONEER.
RESIDED HERE FOR 50 YEARS
Leaves Three Children to Mourn Loss of Kind and Indulgent Father - Wife Preceded Him
The passing of another Floyd county pioneer was marked when John C. Harvey died at the family home, three and one-half miles east of Charles City, at 2:30 this morning, April 26, 1910
Deceased was some 79 years old, and had resided on the farm on which he died for a period of forty years. He came to Floyd county early in life and spent the 50 years of his residence here in agricultural pursuits.
Mr. Harvey was a man of generous disposition and this trait endeared him to many people and surrounded him with many friends who will regret his death. The immediate cause of Mr. Harvey's death was Bright's disease from which he suffered many years.
He leaves to mourn the loss of a kind and indulgent father, three children, namely, Mrs. Emma Matteson, Mrs. Ida Teedy, Mrs. Lavina Gunn, George and I. C. Harvey, his wife having preceded him to the spirit world about a year ago.
No definite arrangements have yet been made for the burial.
