Waller, Eleanor E.

Eleanor E. Waller died of Bright's disease, August 9, 1900, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Harvey, east of the city, age ninety-four years, three months and twenty six days.

Mrs. Waller was the daughter of Richard and Nancy Waller and was born at Milledgeville, GA., April 14, 1806. At the age of eleven she moved with her parents to Bedford, KY.

She was married to James E. Waller, March 11th, 1830. In 1834 she moved to southern Illinois, where she resided for ten years and then moved to Rockford, Ill., where she resided for three years. From there she moved to Rock County, Wis. Eight children were born to them four of them still living. Her husband died the 22nd day of September, 1872.

In 1874 she came to Iowa with her son, Dr. G. H. Waller. Since then she has made her home with her oldest daughter, Mrs. John Harvey, in St. Charles. Mrs. Waller was the oldest of a family of nine children. R. Miles Waller of this city being the only one living at this time, his age being eighty-seven years.

During a former sickness early in the spring, Mrs. Waller called one of her grand daughters to her bedside and dictated all the biographical part of this obituary. She seems to have retained her mental powers to the wonderful old age of ninety four, nearly a century's time.

She has led a quiet domestic life. A true wife, a devoted mother dies at a grand old age, honored and loved by all who enjoyed her acquaintance and associations.
