Harvey, William H.

William H. Harvey was born in Whatham, Canada, January 25th, 1827 and died at the home of his daughter in this city June 15th, 1900.

He came from Canada with his father in 1838 and settled in Winnebago County, Illinois. He removed from Illinois to Chickasaw County, Iowa, in 1856 and in 1857 moved to Floyd County, where he has resided ever since. He was married June 7th, 1852, to Mary M. Waller, a native of Illinois.

Six children were born of this union, three sons and three daughters, four of whom living to mourn his loss, Mrs. L. D. Huckins, Mrs. J. Lawrence and W. J. and Frank Harvey all of this city. Mr. Harvey has been an invalid for several years but was confined to his bed but three and a half days in his final illness. Thus another old settler passed away.
