Wolf, Charles

Killed by a Bull

Charles Wolf aged 78 years, a respected German farmer. living near Flood Creek, was killed by a bull Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock.

Mr. Wolf, a former resident of this city and well known in the county, while letting his stock in the barn yard from the field, was, in an unguarded moment, attacked by the vicious animal and knocked down. Arising and endeavoring to secure the pitchfork he had placed near the gate, the maddened beast, again knocked him down and trampled his victim. By this time the family arrived on the scene and succeeded in rescuing their parent, who was terribly injured. He died two hours later.

This animal has been considered dangerous for some time, and a pitchfork was necessary to subdue. This time however, when the old gentleman set that weapon down while he opened the gate, the beast took advantage of this temporary negligence, which ended in the sad death of Mr. Wolf.

The funeral took place today at 2 p.m. at the Flood Creek church. The deceased's son, Louie Wolf, is a resident of this city.
