Aged Woman Succumbs at Charles City Home

Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Central Methodist Church for Mrs. Lena
A. Laun, 80, who died at her home Monday of a chronic heart condition. She had been in failing
health for four years. The Rev. Paul Davis will officiate and burial will be in the Riverside
Cemetery.

Mrs. Laun was born in Germany July 24, 1870. She was married to Louis E. Laun in Rockford, May
26, 1898. The couple lived on a farm in Ulster Township. Mr. Laun died in 1936. Survivors
include a daughter, Miss Esther Laun, Charles City; a son, Kenneth Laun, near Rockford; two
sisters, Mrs. A. B. Schmidt, Rockford; Mrs. Amelia Malcolm, North Ridge Cal.; and a brother
August S. Duesenberg, Indianapolis, Ind. Three grandsons also survive. One of three brothers
who preceded her in death was Fred Duesenberg who invented the Duesenberg automobile. The Hauser
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
