Hans Hendrikson was born August 5, 1835 at Fekjer, Nor​way. He emigrated to Wisconsin between 1860-1863.

Hans married Anna Olsd​atter Dokkebakken on December 26, 1863 at Bostwick Valley, Wisconsin.

The couple had 6 children: Gustava Karina and Olaf Hendrick were born in Dane, Wisconsin; Hendrick, Klara Hellina, Ida Christine and Hans Adolf were born at Rock Grove, Floyd, Iowa.

Hans, his wife and the first 2 children moved from Dane, Wisconsin to a farm at Rock Grove, Floyd Co, Iowa between 1868 and 1870. The family is found in the 1873 Rock Creek Lutheran Church Members list. Hans was a farmer.
