David Volbrecht, 73, a former resident of Charles City, died July 13, 2013 at his home in Wichita, Kansas. He was born February 9, 1940 in Charles City, the son of Harold and Irma “nee” Schilling-Volbrecht.

In 1956 he moved to Wichita, Kansas, with his parents. He was employed by both Beech and Cessna aircraft plants and worked also as an auto mechanic.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kay and two children, Douglas and Tammy of Wichita. He is also survived by a brother Dean (Janet) Volbrecht of Rochester, Minnesota; two aunts, Demetra and Kathy Schilling of Charles City; uncle, Laverne (Dawn) Volbrecht of Derby, Kansas; nephew and nieces and several cousins.
